Hot Sun, Sore Ass
Today the sun was hot and my ass was sore.
I left Toronto around 11am, which apparently was too late, because the streets were very hot. Although on the bright side, or I suppose even brighter than the sun.. side... I found 2 bike paths for about 10km each. I also found a drinking fountain, which have been pretty rare in Ontario, especially compared to the other public facilities at parks.
Almost immeditely after I started pedalling on the morning, the muscle just above my sit bones started to feel tighter and tighter with each pedal stroke. I decided they were just warming up and decided to keep pedaling. After an hour though, they were so cramped that it was hard to sit on my bike seat -- it was even hard to sit at a picnic table that I stopped at. I'd never experienced anything like this before.
I decided to keep going though, because I wanted to get far enough away from the city to camp. I had my eye on the beinning of a 90km bike trail, which was about 70km away from the city. However, I found a group of soccer fields after 55km and decided to camp on the far side of them. I was ony 4pm, so I layed in the grass for a while, then set up my tent at 8pm and slept great!
Tomorrow willhopefully be less hot and less sore, and if its not I'm going to pretend it is anyways.
