USA

Earlier in the day I had been looking at a campground called Heart O' The Woods, which was 7 miles from the ferry in Port Angeles. However, I found that it was up a 2,000' hill, so I decided to stick to the shore. There was a trail along the waterfront that I followed the whole way to a county park, where I sat at a picnic table until all the people walking their dogs left, and then set up my tent. The sky was clear and there were a lot of stars.

Robin texted me and asked if there was anything different about being back in the US. I told her there were lots of No Trespassing signs and lots of potholes and cracks in the streets. I had also noticed the difference in No Trespassing sings when I crossed from New York State into Ontario.

In Sequim I went to a bank to exchange my remaining Canadian Dollars (a $5 and $19 in coins, mostly $2 coins) for US Dollars. The first bank told me they could exchange the $5, but not the coins. The 2nd bank said no, and the 3rd bank told me I would need to open an account, and they would also charge me a $10 fee to do the exchange. After I left the 3rd bank, I rode by an antique coin shop. I went inside asked the guy if he'd exchange my $19 in coins, expecting him to laugh at me. But he did, and gave me $15 US!
