White River

Today was the easiest day of bike touring imaginable.

We left Wawa at 10am, after our generous host, Suyin, had made us breakfast. We pedaled 30km and sat on a rock by the side of the highway and ate some of the ribs and stirfry and cookies that Suyin had packed for us. We then continued another 20km to the 'Halfway Lodge', the only place between Wawa and White River, which are the only towns within 100km. We then pedaled the rest of the way to White River, arriving at 3pm after riding 100km. I commented that bicycle touring would be no fun if every day was this simple. It is nice to have the occasional day where everything feels easy though.

We found a chip truck and I got a sausage on a bun and an ice cream. Then we hit the LCBO, then we rode down some dirt roads looking for a suitale place the camp. We ended up on a small sandy beach on Picnic Lake, where we finshed the ribs and stirfry, went for a swim, drank some beers, and layed around in the sun.
